Thank you for visiting my website. I hope that you find it useful and informative! I am the South School Guidance/Adjustment Counselor. I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Clark University and my Masters Degree in Social Work from Rhode Island College. I am also a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts.
In my role as the Counselor at the South School, I provide services to children in a variety of settings. These settings include: individual counseling, small group counseling, friendship groups, social skills group, groups about separation and divorce, and whole classroom lessons. I also work with teachers and the administration to help to provide a safe and comfortable school environment for all of our students to grow and develop. I truly believe that helping our students to develop positive social and emotional skills is a vital part of our role as educators. I strive to provide students with a safe and nurturing environment in which they can express their emotions and become more effective problem solvers.
When I am not at school, I spend my time with my two very energetic boys! My oldest son is 12 years old and attends seventh grade while my younger son is 9 years old and is a 3rd grader. Along with my husband, we enjoy traveling and exploring new places. As you can see from the picture I selected for my home page, the beach is one of my favorite places. I think it's important for all of us to surround ourselves with things that make us feel relaxed and fill us with happiness. My office is decorated in soothing blues and a variety of beach pictures in an effort to create a safe and comfortable place for our students to express their ideas, thoughts and concerns.
